About The Position

The Clinical Services Specialist provides supportive clinical services to participants enrolled in reStart housing and stabilization programs. This role integrates mental health support, crisis intervention, psychoeducational programming, and service coordination within a Housing First framework to promote stability, safety, and long-term housing success. Clinical Services Specialists may serve participants across various programs and funding streams based on operational needs and community demand. The position works collaboratively with case managers, housing staff, and community partners to ensure clinical needs are addressed in a manner that supports housing retention and overall well-being. The Clinical Services Specialist reports to the Clinical Services Program Manager and contributes to the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of reStart’s clinical service delivery model.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related human services field required
  • Experience providing mental health, crisis intervention, or supportive services in community-based settings.
  • Experience working with individuals experiencing housing instability, behavioral health concerns, or complex life challenges.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed practices and strengths-based service delivery.
  • Familiarity with documentation standards and electronic case management systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screening.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation when community-based services are required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide supportive mental health interventions, including crisis response and safety planning.
  • Facilitate psychoeducational groups and structured skill-building sessions aligned with participant needs.
  • Support participants in accessing community-based behavioral health, medical, and supportive services.
  • Assist participants in identifying goals that complement housing stabilization efforts.
  • Monitor participant well-being and communicate concerns appropriately within the treatment team.
  • Support trauma-informed intake and onboarding processes.
  • Participate in participant orientation and program engagement activities.
  • Assist in grievance mediation and conflict resolution as needed.
  • Promote safe, respectful, and structured program environments.
  • Support participant transitions, referrals, and discharge planning coordination.
  • Collaborate with housing case managers and program staff to ensure continuity of care.
  • Communicate with community agencies to coordinate clinical and supportive services.
  • Participate in case conferencing, team meetings, and interdisciplinary discussions.
  • Support cross-program collaboration to enhance service delivery consistency.
  • Maintain timely, accurate, and thorough documentation in HMIS and other required systems.
  • Conduct quality checks and support documentation integrity.
  • Assist in maintaining daily census records and service tracking.
  • Support preparation of reports for funders and internal leadership as assigned.
  • Ensure compliance with confidentiality standards and applicable regulations, including HIPAA.
  • Strengthening relationships with behavioral health agencies, hospitals, and community providers.
  • Collaborate with housing program managers to ensure seamless participant support.
  • Represent reStart in community meetings and cross-sector initiatives as assigned.
  • Support integration of clinical services within broader organizational initiatives.
  • Contribute to implementation and refinement of clinical service policies and procedures.
  • Support program operations including participant supervision when needed.
  • Assist in maintaining safe and organized program environments.
  • Participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support program integrity and participant success.
