The Comprehensive Epilepsy Center at Children's Mercy offers innovative treatment and support for children with seizure disorders and their families. Each area of our clinic, from the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit to the Ketogenic Diet Program, has dedicated staff members who specialize in that field.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Nursing degree program and 1-2 years experience pediatric nursing experience.
  • Associate's Degree Direct care nurses hired after September 1, 2013 without a BSN must complete their Bachelor's degree within 5 years of their hire date and 1-2 years experience pediatric nursing experience.
  • Licensed RN - Kansas, Registered Nurse Multistate License Kansas required upon hire.
  • Licensed RN - MO, Registered Nurse Multistate License Missouri required upon hire.
  • Refer to Nursing and Advanced Practice Provider Licensure and Certification policy for required Life Support Certifications Required Upon Hire.
  • Specialty Certification relevant to unit's patient population (determined by Nurse Manager/Director).

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes the nursing process to develop and implement a comprehensive plan of care for the patient/family which promotes optimal patient outcomes.
  • Serves as a clinical resource for the education and consultation needs of the health care team.
  • Meets the educational needs of patient/family, utilizing principles of teaching/learning.
  • Supports program and services.
  • Participates in departmental and organizational performance improvement activities.

  • Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $30.50/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.
