About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Clinical Services Manager (CSM) to lead the daily operations of the UAMS Family Medical Center in Pine Bluff, AR. This pivotal role involves ensuring the seamless delivery of exceptional patient care while fostering a culture of professional growth, quality outcomes, and employee satisfaction. The CSM will work closely with the Medical Director, Residency Director, physicians, and other organizational leaders to align operations with UAMS’ vision, mission, and standards. Responsibilities include overseeing staffing for the nursing department, managing departmental budgets, implementing evidence-based practices, and driving initiatives to enhance patient and employee satisfaction. The CSM will also ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including those set by UAMS, insurance companies, and government agencies. This position requires a strategic leader who can collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, uphold UAMS’ commitment to quality care, and contribute to the achievement of organizational goals. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree or actively pursing BSN With expected completion within one (1) year of hire
  • Five (5) or more years of clinical experience in the field of Nursing
  • At least three (3) years of experience in a leadership capacity
  • Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Arkansas.
  • Current BLS certification or must successfully obtain certification within the first 30 days of employment.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance
  • Proficient in using healthcare software and databases
  • Desire to foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development
  • Demonstrates empathy, compassion, and a commitment to delivering quality patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Staffing for the Nursing Department: The CSM is responsible for recruiting, hiring, and onboarding qualified nursing staff for the department. This includes conducting interviews, evaluating candidates, and ensuring proper training and orientation are provided to new hires. Additionally, the CSM will coordinate and monitor the workload of nursing staff to ensure adequate coverage and efficient operations.
  • Development: The CSM actively contributes to the development of the nursing department by staying updated on industry trends, best practices, and advancements in healthcare. They identify opportunities for improvement and implement strategies to enhance the quality of care provided. This may include conducting training seminars or workshops, implementing new protocols or technologies, and collaborating with other departments for interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Budgeting: The CSM is responsible for developing and managing the nursing department's budget. They collaborate with leadership to identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining adequate staffing levels and ensuring the highest quality patient care.
  • Patient Satisfaction: The CSM continuously monitors patient satisfaction levels and works to address any concerns or issues promptly. They actively engage with patients, their families, and healthcare providers to gather feedback, identify areas of improvement, and implement strategies to enhance the overall patient experience.
  • Professional Growth: The CSM fosters a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the nursing department. They mentor and guide individual staff members, conduct performance evaluations, and assist with career advancement opportunities. They also promote a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and open communication among nursing staff.
  • Quality Outcomes: The CSM is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the highest level of quality in the nursing department. They collaborate with the Medical Director, Residency Director, and other leadership to establish quality metrics, measure performance, and identify areas for improvement. They ensure that nursing practices adhere to UAMS, regulatory, and internal standards, and that patient outcomes are consistently exceptional.
  • Collaboration and Compliance: The CSM serves as a liaison between the nursing department and other departments within the organization, including the Medical Director, Residency Director, physicians, and leadership. They facilitate effective communication, coordinate efforts, and ensure that nursing department activities are aligned with the overall goals and objectives of the organization. Additionally, the CSM ensures that all regulations and requirements set by UAMS, insurance companies, government agencies, and internal goals/strategies are adhered to.
