Position Summary The Clinical Services Manager is a dynamic, hands-on leadership role responsible for ensuring that clinical services are delivered with the highest standards of fidelity, quality, and customer care. This position blends clinical expertise with operational oversight, requiring the manager to provide direct services such as individual and group psychotherapy and psychoeducation, while also supervising the overall clinical care and treatment provided at designated Mindful Health location(s). The Clinical Services Manager plays a key role in maintaining regulatory compliance, supporting staff development, and fostering a culture of excellence in behavioral health service delivery.

Requirements

• A master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, human development, or behavioral science field from an accredited college or university.
• The Program Manager must be actively licensed (LCSW/LPC/LMFT) in the State of Texas to provide independent clinical care, treatment, and services.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in clinical assessment & diagnosis with a focus on the treatment and prevention of mental, emotional, and behavioral health challenges (preferred).
• Experience in a group programming setting such as Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Services and knowledge of the group therapeutic setting.
• Willingness to pursue certification in valued treatment modalities.
• Current CPR Certification
• Current CPI Certification
• Knowledge and experience of the therapeutic milieu.
• Knowledge and experience in Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient treatment settings.
• Understanding of payer regulations for PHP and IOP programs.
• Understanding of the Utilization Review process as it relates to PHP/IOP prior authorization and necessity for continued stay.
• Skilled in facilitating Process Groups, Psychoeducational Groups, Life Skills groups, etc.
• Knowledge of Joint Commission as well as state and federal regulations related to care, treatment, and services.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, and other laws applicable to mental health services.
• Knowledge of continuous process improvement concepts and practices.
• Emotional intelligence and empathy, as demonstrated by the ability to identify with and understand another person’s point of view and ask the right questions to determine the focus for treatment.
• Communication, as demonstrated by the ability to clearly convey, both verbally and in writing, detailed directions, describe processes in understandable terms, and concise documentation of the therapeutic process.
• Active listening skills, as demonstrated by interpreting verbal and non-verbal cues to determine the focus for treatment as well as understand information from colleagues and other mental health professionals.
• Critical thinking skills, as demonstrated by using creative problem-solving as part of the therapeutic process to find the best available options for clients.
• Organizational skills, as demonstrated by making sure each case is updated in a timely manner with the correct information and cases are prioritized based on client needs.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Clinic Director with supervising therapists and oversees training new staff to ensure clinical integrity of programming and that regulatory standards are met.
• Contributes to 90-day evaluations and annual reviews of clinical staff.
• Audit charts to ensure compliance in participation with the Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement Process and regulatory standards.
• Review charts relating to accurate and timely completion of documentation.
• Provide oversight of group, individual, family and couples therapists to ensure compliance with Mindful Health policies and processes.
• Disseminates information from Director of Clinical Services and other leadership to therapists.
• Attend daily Flash meetings and complete follow up items presented during the meeting.
• Monitor clinical documentation and discharge planning to ensure regulatory compliance and clinical integrity.
• Leads regularly scheduled Treatment Team meetings for PHP/IOP and ensures compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
• Ongoing and consistent collaboration with the interdisciplinary team including physicians, utilization review and nursing staff members.
• Demonstrate an understanding of utilization review and criteria for continued stay and discharge.
• Familiar with external referrals for individual, couples, and family therapy.
• Provide or assign individual psychotherapy sessions.
• Provide or assign group psychotherapy and psycho-educational groups according to PHP/IOP program schedule.
• Provide or assign family therapy sessions.
• Monitors to ensure completion of psychosocial assessment, treatment plan updates, and History and Physical exams within assigned time frame of admission to PHP/IOP.
• Provide clinical support to staff weekly and as needed.
• Lead in developing the interdisciplinary treatment plan, with clients in PHP/IOP programming, outlining focus for treatment, goals, and interventions.
• Document all clinical encounters with individuals, couples, families, and groups clearly and concisely, demonstrating the therapeutic process.
• Ensure ongoing evaluation of clients’ diagnosis, psychosocial stressors, strengths, and opportunities for growth.
• Ensure the evaluation of clients’ progress using identified outcome measures and adjust treatment plan accordingly.
• Assist client and family with PHP/IOP discharge planning, including community resources and referrals.
• Evaluate day to day programing with other clinicians to ensure quality care.
• Provide excellent customer service to clients and staff.
• Ensures client satisfaction and participates in addressing complaints and grievances, as they arise.
• Conduct community groups to promote healthy lifestyles and wellness in the community.
• Maintain a positive, professional image in the office and in the community.
• Participate in QA/QI process, ensuring that services are evidence-based.
• Maintain regular work hours, being on time and managing time well.
• Demonstrates personal characteristics of patience, tact, cheerfulness and enthusiasm toward the administration and clients.
• Must be able to appropriately respond to all types of behavior.
• Any additional duties that facilitate the effective operations of the programs and services provided.
