Supervision Exercises general supervision for all imaging centers; oversees modality Supervisors and technical staff. Duties and Responsibilities Manages clinical services, ensuring quality and timeliness in accordance with clinic and governmental standards; ensures compliance with accreditation, legal and other regulatory requirements is maintained by supervisory personnel and/or technical staff. Ensures clinic-related policies and procedures are maintained and followed; provides corrective action when needed. Maintains the operational standards required for facility designation as an American College of Radiology Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence. Provides immediate supervision to all technical supervisory personnel assigned; assures proper completion of medical records and associated documentation by Technologists for billing and record-keeping purposes. Provides immediate supervision to the Medical Assistant Team and IR Clinic workflow. Reviews and approves weekly time and attendance records for technical supervisory staff; reviews and completes annual performance evaluations of technical supervisory staff within required timelines. Consistently reviews modality performance, promoting the highest level of patient care and safety possible. Continually seeks improvement in operational efficiency without jeopardizing service or clinical quality. Oversight of clinical quality control and quality assurance standards; ensures adherence to schedule for reporting or testing as required. Assists technical supervisory staff with the maintenance of imaging equipment; facilitates inspections of all technical equipment and related materials as needed. Assists with RIS administration and related tasks. Participates with the acquisition process for new imaging equipment and/or clinical/technical supplies. Assists technical supervisory personnel with maintaining sufficient inventory of all clinical/technical supplies while adhering to established budget. Suggests budget improvements when warranted. Ensures the technical supervisory personnel coordinates and maintains the technical schedules per modality; responsible for always facilitating appropriate coverage. Coordinates the utilization of technical staff with technical supervisory personnel; assists with the reassignment of technical personnel as required. Provides ongoing clinical and financial data analyses to identify opportunities for improvement, cost containment and optimal utilization of resources. In conjunction with technical supervisory personnel, develops clinical/technical budget for expenses and staffing as well as capital expenses; responsible for ensuring that clinical operations fall within allocated funds based on budget. Achieves patient satisfaction targets; addresses patient and referring provider complaints, which escalate beyond a supervisor’s intervention. Facilitates Daily Huddle meetings with clinic Supervisors and on an ongoing basis to assess/review new initiatives or processes, patient satisfaction goals, and quality/safety concerns. Communicates effectively with Radiologists, other members of Management, and all other related staff; maintains a strong rapport with outside affiliates and referring providers as well as with patients. Change management responsibilities for clinical staff and organizational objectives delineated by the COO and/or applicable Radiologists; makes recommendations for changes needed to the COO and/or applicable Radiologists. Participates in professional development activities; attends required meetings and actively participates in Committees as assigned. Maintains professional licensure and all applicable registries. Maintains and utilizes all applicable technical skills; functions as a technical resource and provides related support across modalities to technical supervisory personnel. Completes other duties or tasks assigned by Management or the Radiologists. Works extended hours, after-hours, weekends, or takes call, as necessary. QualificationsPerformance Requirements Comprehensive knowledge of radiology principles, practices, and techniques to effectively direct, support, and provide operational backup for clinical staff across modalities. In-depth knowledge of imaging equipment and diagnostic testing, with the ability to assess departmental needs and participate in equipment evaluation and purchasing decisions. Thorough understanding of safety requirements, with the ability to instruct staff, identify hazardous conditions, and implement corrective actions to ensure compliance and patient safety. Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and maintain quality control and quality assurance programs across imaging modalities. Ability to analyze utilization metrics, operational data, and performance indicators to inform recommendations and drive continuous improvement. Proven ability to develop departmental budgets, forecast resource needs, and manage expenditures in alignment with organizational financial goals. Proficiency with RIS and PACS systems and comprehensive knowledge of federal and state radiology regulations, including MQSA and DICOE compliance. Demonstrated capability to provide guidance, instruction, mentorship, and performance oversight to technical supervisors and imaging technologists. Proficient in the Microsoft Office 365 Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Teams. Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a demonstrated capacity to motivate staff, manage performance, and support a culture of accountability and patient-centered care. Demonstrated ability to work independently while effectively leading and collaborating within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
