About The Position

This role is primarily responsible for opening incoming specimen shipments received from various sources such as pathology laboratories, hospitals, and clinics, ensuring each specimen is accurately matched with the appropriate documentation. A significant portion of time is dedicated to sorting specimens based on test type and distributing them to the appropriate staff for processing, while also scanning records into the appropriate systems as needed. The position requires a strong focus on quality and accuracy, ensuring all work is complete and compliant with established procedures and departmental productivity standards. Additional responsibilities include ensuring timely delivery of specimens, performing specimen returns upon completion of testing, maintaining a clean and organized work area, and supporting supply chain integrity for both internal operations and external customer needs. The individual must follow all safety rules and defined practices, communicate any issues to supervisors as appropriate, and contribute positively to team efforts while adapting professionally to ongoing changes.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 1 year of experience in a laboratory or clinical setting preferred.
