Functions as a specialist in the area of administrative clinic services for a department, which include functioning as an expert in areas such as patient registration, scheduling, medical records, and employer directed health care compliance, and reporting requirements. Maintains a thorough knowledge of the clinic's procedures and standards. Trains and orients new staff and serve as backup/fill-in for support positions as needed. May plan and direct the work of clinic support positions. Acts in the absence of management in particular situations as directed by supervisor. Participates in clinic improvement activities and assists administration with the implementation of new/revised clinic systems and procedures. Examples of this may include transitioning to an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, coordinating workflow, and responding to customer inquiries. Performs a variety of registration and scheduling duties. Maintains control files on professional service compliance status, reviews records and reports for accuracy and completeness, answer inquiries. Coordinates and participates in activities involved in documenting compliance to include gathering and compiling documentation and updating patient records. Assists in the compilation of statistical reports and analyses reflecting operational activities. Maintains inventory of clinic supplies as required. Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein. Under administrative review, coordinates and participates in a variety of administrative tasks that require the exercise of initiative and judgment. Acts as a procedural specialist in the area of administrative clinic services for the section or department.
