About The Position
Profound Medical is on a mission to profoundly change the standard of care in healthcare, particularly in the treatment of prostate cancer. We aim to create a future where clinicians can confidently ablate tissue with precision, ensuring that patients have access to safe and effective treatment options that allow them to return to their daily lives quickly. Our innovative approach utilizes real-time MR Imaging, thermal ultrasound, and closed-loop temperature feedback control to gently ablate diseased tissue with minimal side effects. We are looking for a Clinical Scientist to join our team, who will play a crucial role in educating, mentoring, and collaborating with urologists, radiologists, and their staff on the technical and clinical aspects of MRI-guided transurethral ultrasound ablation using the TULSA-PRO system. In this role, the Clinical Scientist will guide physicians and staff during TULSA procedures at hospitals and imaging centers, drawing on best practices from expert sites and the latest clinical literature. The position requires troubleshooting unique situations in the field, necessitating a deep understanding of the technology and its application in urology, as well as the ability to work collaboratively and effectively under pressure. The Clinical Scientist will assist physicians with patient selection and pre-treatment planning, perform detailed case reviews, and identify areas for improvement to enhance treatment efficiency and patient outcomes. Additionally, the Clinical Scientist will contribute to the design and execution of clinical trials, collaborate with key opinion leaders on conference abstracts and publications, and work closely with sales, marketing, and service teams to educate potential customers. This role also involves serving as a subject matter expert within the company, providing technical and clinical education for various teams, and contributing expertise to cross-functional projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong teaching and communication skills, along with technical expertise, to effectively serve as the voice of the customer and identify impactful areas for technology improvement.
