About The Position

Scripps' CTSA award supports mentored research in a career development postdoctoral program designed for young investigators to gain clinical and translational research experience as members of Scripps Research Translational Institute. The K Scholars Program, directed by Dr. Laura Nicholson, is designed to provide early-career postdoctoral (MD, PhD, MD/PhD, PharmD, or equivalent) candidates with a novel career development experience in a precision medicine-focused institute at the forefront of genomics, digital medicine, machine learning, and community-engaged research. We are funded by an NIH Clinical Translational Science Award (CTSA) K12 Mentored Research Career Development Award. Program Features and Information include targeted mentorship for the transdisciplinary research skills required for successful translational research careers, a team science approach to promote innovation and impact, a commitment to increasing diversity in research studies and the research workforce, protected 75% of time for scholarly work and research training, $15,500 annually for research-related expenses, minimum two-year appointments, and translational science coursework among topics in trial design, grant preparation, biostatistics, human genomics, computational biology, and social science implications of research.
