The Clinical Risk Manager manages the clinic wide risk management and patient safety and satisfaction program and provides guidance to clinical staff. Works closely with Chief Medical Officer to develop, execute, and improve risk systems within the Clinic to detect, monitor, prevent, organize, measure, investigate, report and manage or reduce patient adverse events, malpractice claims, incident reports and other potential indicators of patient harm. Responsible for the completion of the FTCA Risk Management annual compliance plan to HRSA. Leads the Clinic's risk management activities and works with senior leadership support for aligning the patient safety, risk, and quality functions within the organization. Ensures that the patient safety, risk, training and quality activities are aligned with the strategic goals of the organization. Assesses current activities in patient safety, risk and quality to clarify responsibilities and reduce duplication of effort. Establishes a structure that ensures that patient care activities are addressed in a coordinated manner involving the patient safety, risk, training and quality functions. Seeks guidance to ensure that the structure for patient safety, risk, and quality activities maximizes legal protection while allowing for the flow of information across all functions. Seeks to coordinate and streamline clinical process changes, data collection, data analysis, monitoring, and evaluation. Periodically evaluates the roles of patient safety, risk, and quality as the organization's needs change associated risk management activities. Identifies the highest clinical risks and recommends training topics. Will prepare quarterly and annual reports regarding the risk activities and meeting the risk requirements.
