This position is primarily responsible for the delivery of coordinated nursing care for a patient or an assigned group of patients within an assigned unit, and for the day-to-day management and supervision of related clinical activities. The role involves coordinating the plan of care with the client, their family, and the interdisciplinary team. The Clinical RN II is also responsible for supervising and directing the activities of various levels of assigned nursing and ancillary personnel, utilizing professional and supervisory discretion and independent judgment. The incumbent must understand and adhere to the California Nurse Practice Act, The American Nurses Association (ANA) Code of Ethics for Nurses, the ANA Bill of Rights for Registered Nurses, and the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice for Nursing. Responsibilities include the observation and direction of patient lifts and mobilization, and participation as needed in patient handling. The role requires the ability to speak and read English at a sufficient level to perform essential functions, knowledge of standard office equipment, and proficiency in personal computer and software skills (MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, Powerpoint, internet, e-mail), including keyboarding and mouse operations, within the first two weeks of employment. The Clinical RN II performs other duties as assigned, follows Palomar Health rules, policies, procedures, applicable laws and standards, and carries out the mission, vision, and quality commitment of Palomar Health.
