Join our Emergency Services as part of the Base Hospital Clinical Team. Scripps Mercy San Diego is one of seven Base Hospitals in San Diego County. The goal of the Base Hospital Clinical Nurse is to provide education for ER staff (MICNs) as well as providing education and training to Paramedics and EMTs. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of Emergency Services experience with a minimum of 1 year of MICN experience. Must be motivated and thrive in an educator/preceptor role. The Base Hospital Clinical Nurse works under the supervision of the Base Hospital Nurse Manager. They assist with planning and organizing of Quality Assurance and prehospital education while adhering to State BRN and County of San Diego Continuing Education requirements. $4K New Hire Incentive, $3K Relocation if moving from 100+ miles #LI-JS1 The following are not eligible for hiring incentives:​ Internal candidates​ Rehires that left Scripps less than 3 years ago​ In order to remain eligible for your retention incentive the following criteria must be met​ Must remain in original hired FTE Status and Shift (if specified in offer letter)​ Must remain in original department/specialty​ Must remain in original Job Title​ Transfers to other locations will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and may result in forfeiting remaining incentive bonus unless specifically noted in your offer letter.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years experience in Emergency Services.
  • Minimum 1 year Mobile Intensive Care Nurse (MICN) experience.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Current CA RN License
  • SD County MICN
  • ACLS and BLS (American Heart Assoc.)
  • TNCC or ATCN certs

Nice To Haves

  • Preceptor and/or formal training in adult education theories preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with planning and organizing of Quality Assurance and prehospital education
  • Adhering to State BRN and County of San Diego Continuing Education requirements
