About The Position

To render professional nursing care pursuant to the goals, objectives, and policies of Cottage Health System, following the standards of practice. To manage quality care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Responsibilities This is not an exhaustive statement of duties, responsibilities, or requirements. Employees will be required to perform any job, with related instruction given by their supervisor, subject to reasonable accommodation. Utilizes the nursing process in collecting data and performing nursing care interventions on an on-going basis. (10%) Documents all required information in a timely, thorough, and accurate manner, such as patient care changes and updating plan of care. (10%) Delivers quality care in an organized manner within the scope of practice. (10%) Coordinates, orders, and meets multiple patient needs and requests within acceptable time frame by managing workflow utilizing team resources. (20%) Monitors and ensures the quality of healthcare practices, such as the safe implementation of standards of care and accessing process improvement in a manner compliant with The Joint Commission, HIPAA and Title 9 Regulations (DHCS). (50%) Qualifications All job qualifications listed indicate the minimum level necessary to perform this job proficiently.

Requirements

  • Current California RN license.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • See addendum for additional certifications in specialty area that may be required.
  • If working under an Interim Permit, must have an RN available as a resource on the assigned unit at all times.
  • Previous experience with medial technology/equipment as needed based on assigned patient care unit.
  • Encourages others to share points of view.
  • Gives positive feedback to staff when they offer input
  • Coaches staff in communication skills that will help them team function.
  • Acts as a resource and applies previous experiences to new situations.
  • Organizes, sets priorities and uses abstract thought to understand the relevance of clinical situations.
  • Observes subtle changes in patient's condition and adjusts plan of action accordingly.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of nursing principles, theories, and practices, including infection control with demonstrated clinical expertise in area of practice.
  • Knowledge of administration of prescribed medications and treatments.
