About The Position

The Clinical Research RN at Monticello Cancer Center is responsible for providing education to patients regarding cancer processes, side effect management, and pain control. This role involves implementing clinical research studies, facilitating patient entry into cancer treatment and prevention trials, and collaborating with various cancer research networks. The position is part-time, requiring 48-64 hours every two weeks, with no weekend or holiday work.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in nursing required.
• RN MN Licensure required.
• Minimum of 3 years of related experience in medical oncology or clinical research preferred.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Healthcare Provider card required prior to completion of unit orientation.

Nice To Haves

• National Certification in a Nursing Specialty preferred.
• National certification in clinical research preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide education to patients related to cancer processes, side effect management, and pain control.
• Implement clinical research studies sponsored by the National Cancer Institute or approved industry studies.
• Facilitate patient entry into studies for cancer treatment and/or prevention.
• Take training on trials that the location qualifies for.
• Review patients for qualified candidates for trials.
• Discuss participation in trials with patients and follow up with those participating.
