The Cruchaga Lab, the NeuroGenomics and Informatics (NGI) Center, at WashU Medicine is recruiting a Clinical Research Study Assistant. We are seeking an experienced, self-motivated, self-driven person to work as a part of vibrant group in a fast-paced environment. This person will work in a collegial environment and join a multidisciplinary, diverse team in a well-established, well-funded research group, currently 30+ dynamic members, to explore the frontiers of neurodegenerative diseases. The NGI generates and analyzes Whole-Genome and high-throughput multi-dimensional omics data to study neurodegenerative diseases of the central nervous system. The goal of our research is to use genomic and multi-omic approaches to understand the biology neurodegenerative diseases. Under the direction of the Research Coordinators or PI, they will participate in moderately complex clinical research study activities. The Clinical Research Study Assistant will be responsible for multiple study’s biospecimens including, but not limited to: blood, plasma, serum, and brain. They will perform a variety of duties including the oversight, organization and handling of these biospecimen samples for these multiple studies. They will ship samples and be responsible for an accurate manifest. They will be trained on the lab’s database system to maintain the order of the samples. They will be responsible for assembling outgoing biospecimen kits for multiple studies. As needed, they will draw blood from research participants at our various clinics. They will work with the research coordinators for any other responsibilities that may be needed.
