About The Position

As a part of the clinical research team, the student Intern conducts research related tasks under the direction of a Clinical Research Manager and study Principal Investigator. The Intern will assist with projects and tasks as trained and assigned. Project may include industry sponsored, grant funded, or internally funded studies while maintaining compliance with guidelines set by governing agencies and institutional policy. This position will be assigned to support minimal risk or non-interventional studies, unless assigned to serve in a support function for greater than minimal risk studies that also include a Clinical Research Coordinator or Clinical Research Nurse. Under supervision of Principal Investigator, conducts actvities in compliances with research protocols. Assists with completion of study related documentation. Communicates with study team, and other ancillary departments to ensure smooth implementation of research protocol assigned tasks and ongoing maintenance. Collects data from patient charts, medical records, interviews, questionnaires, diagnostic tests and other sources. Ensure compliance with protocol guidelines and requirements of regulatory agencies. Maintains patient databases and study maintenance logs including but not limited to training logs, delegation of responsibility logs, screening logs, and enrollment logs as assigned Consistently deliver the best in customer service and patient care. The individual must exercise flexibility in schedule in order to meet various deadlines. Must maintain confidentiality. Functions as a liaison with principal investigators, other investigators and institutional departments; prioritize and process information between the groups. Must coordinate the work and school schedule with your work manager. Hours are flexible up to 20 hours per week. Interns may be required to work some weekends as well as day and evening shifts. Must maintain confidentiality of patient information. Must provide own transportation.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree; or enrolled in and nearing completion of an undergraduate degree or terminal degree in a field relevant to the internship
  • Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Clinical interns may be required to be enrolled in an accredited professional program (e.g., pharmacy, nursing, allied health) and meet regulatory or licensure-related requirements.
  • Ability to work efficiently, manage time wisely, and follow policies and procedures with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated initiative, professionalism, and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
  • Must provide own transportation.
