About The Position

The Clinical Research Nurse-RN is responsible for facilitating the start-up and management of clinical research projects in various healthcare settings, including acute care and outpatient environments. This role involves educating staff, ensuring protocol compliance, coordinating patient enrollment, and maintaining accurate data in accordance with FDA guidelines. The nurse will utilize critical care skills and assist with innovative procedures, while also managing patient care and compliance throughout the research process.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) License in the State of Ohio.
  • Associate's degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred (must obtain within 5 years).
  • 3-5 years of critical care experience required.
  • 3 years of clinical research experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with FDA/IRB regulations and clinical trial protocols.

  • Experience with investigational devices and medications.
  • Knowledge of case management principles.
  • Proficiency in critical care nursing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates the start-up of clinical projects in various healthcare settings.
  • Educates physicians and hospital staff on study protocols and procedures.
  • Coordinates patient enrollment and follow-up for clinical trials.
  • Maintains protocol compliance and reports to the study Sponsor.
  • Trains research staff and healthcare professionals on study-related procedures.
  • Collects data and performs procedures in designated areas such as the ED, Cath Lab, and ICU.
  • Represents the principal investigator at meetings and training sessions.
  • Maintains accurate Case Report Forms (CRFs) and source documentation.
  • Coordinates project management and patient activities to ensure compliance.
  • Encourages patient enrollment and maintains high participation in research protocols.
  • Assists patients with financial aid and case management needs.
  • Participates in patient care duties associated with research projects.
