Explore how joining a regional leader can enhance your ability to learn, grow, and succeed. The Oncology Clinical Research Manager is part of a team of Clinical Research Coordinators and Nurses. The manager monitors clinical trial metrics, team performance, and trial operations for direct reports.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or 4 years of related experience may be used in lieu of bachelor's degree.
  • Experience: 6 years of experience in a clinical trial and research. Master's degree and 4 years of experience may be accepted.
  • Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Certification as a Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) or Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC). If not certified, research certification will be required within 1 year of hire.
  • Life Support: None

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Advanced knowledge of human subjects research regulations.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
  • Adaptability to adjust to changing priorities and ability to process large volumes of information.
  • Highly organized.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Manages team of Clinical Research Coordinators (CRC) and Nurses (N) daily.
  • Coordinates recruitment, training, staff development, and annual performance management.
  • Oversees employee onboarding.
  • Manages the staff scheduling.
  • Tracks and monitors trial metrics for active studies such as screening, enrollment, and screen failures.
  • Proactively identifies obstacles to enrollment and works with study team to resolve study issues.
  • Compiles activity for invoicing within the research trials in collaboration with study team.
  • Monitors trial budgeting with the Clinical Trial Financial Specialist and Clinical Trials Director.
  • Manages workload planning and staff resource management with leadership.
  • Provides trial oversight and can be back-up CRC/Ns with emergency study coverage.
  • Plans educational programming for monthly CRC/N staff meetings.
  • Assists Clinical Trials Director and Clinical Trials Systems and Project Manager with CTMS/Epic study builds and other start up activities, as needed.
  • Supports the Clinical Trials Director with the leadership of the Clinical Research Team.
  • Facilitates efficient clinical trial start up.
  • Communicates with physicians, CRC/Ns, administrative staff, study sponsors, and agencies.
