About The Position

The Clinical Trials Processing Laboratory (CTPL) is a translational shared resource that supports clinical researchers in early phase clinical translational research by providing dedicated staff for high-volume procurement, processing, storage, delivery and shipment of research specimens critical to the correlative studies component of clinical trials. The Clinical Research Manager is responsible for managing day-to-day specimen processing operations of the CTPL across multiple sites at OSU.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree
• Supervisory experience
• Knowledge of clinical trials
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in clinical operations, clinical research or laboratory setting
• Excellent communication skills
• Knowledge of research protocols

Responsibilities

• Ensuring appropriate procurement, processing, short-term storage and shipment of biospecimens
• Billing activities across multiple sites at OSU
• Coordinating with the Clinical Trials Offices, hospital departments, laboratories and other Shared Resources
• Managing quality assurance/control for specimens and equipment maintenance and certification
• Ensuring protocol compliance with regard to specimens procurement and processing
• Trains and manages processing staff
• Participates in budget and business planning
• Ensures services meet the needs of investigators
• Conducts specimen quality assurance and quality control
