About The Position

The Clinical Research Coordinator participates in day-to-day operations of clinical research studies conducted by a principal investigator in the department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Science. They will perform a variety of duties involved in the collection, compilation, documentation, and analysis of clinical research data and may oversee the work of junior staff and train or mentor others in clinical research tasks. This study aims to enhance, deploy, and rigorously validate the Duke Predictive Model of Adolescent Mental Health (Duke-PMA), a neural network-based tool designed to identify youth at high risk for psychiatric illness using low-cost, accessible clinical and behavioral measures. The overarching objective is to address the urgent need for accurate, individualized mental health prediction tools-particularly in rural and under-served communities where access to psychiatric services is limited.

Requirements

  • Completion of an Associate's degree
  • Work requires a minimum of two years of relevant research experience. A bachelor's degree may substitute for 2 years required experience
  • Possession of a reliable personal vehicle and willingness to travel for work-related activities
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with multiple recruiting sites
  • Ability to adapt to changing project needs and contribute support across multiple ongoing research studies

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in neuroscience, psychology, counseling, social work, or related field
  • Experience working with adolescents in either a research, educational, or clinical capacity
  • Native or professional fluency in Spanish is highly desirable
  • Prior research experience in mental health, child development, or clinical psychology studies
  • Prior training or experience administering standardized behavioral assessments or structured diagnostic interviews
