The BioRepository & Precision Pathology Center (BRPC) at Duke University in the Department of Pathology is looking for a Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) to join research histology team. The (BRPC) is a core resource at Duke responsible for providing tissue samples as well as consenting, histology and other special services to principal investigators inside and outside of Duke. You will be joining the research histology team, following regulatory procedures for the handling of human tissue and other biospecimens, processing and embedding human/animal tissue, de-identifying histology research samples, as well as performing other duties that involve getting research samples to investigators. In this crucial role, as a member of the histology team, you’ll be contributing to multiple research studies by providing high-quality samples, contributing to the development of standard operating procedures, and assuring that samples are handled and shipped according to each specialized protocol. You will help BRPC remain competitive for the Cooperative Human Tissue Network (CHTN) grant, which is a biospecimen resource funded by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) Daily, you will accomplish this important task by checking the IRB to make sure protocols are eligible to receive BRPC services, processing samples according to specific protocol requirements, and working with the BRPC team to provide high-quality biospecimens to researchers inside and outside of Duke. You may be cross trained to collect samples and consent patients depending on the needs of the BRPC.
