We are seeking a motivated, organized candidate to work as a Clinical Research Coordinator in the Lewis Lab, an interdisciplinary and collaborative lab at MGH (Charlestown) and MIT (Cambridge) focused on advanced brain imaging techniques and the neuroscience of sleep (https://www.lewisneurolab.org/). In this role, the candidate will assist with all aspects of neuroimaging research (e.g. EEG, fMRI), including patient interactions, data processing, and project management tasks. Tasks include: Job Summary Summary-Following established policies, procedures, and study protocols, provides assistance on clinical research studies, including recruiting, evaluating, and consenting patients for studies; collecting and organizing patient data; scheduling patients for study visits; performing clinical tests such as phlebotomy, EKGs, etc.; and maintaining and updating data generated by the study. Candidates who are in the process of completing their bachelor's degree have a six-month grace period from their hire date (up to one year if starting on a per diem basis) to provide degree equivalency verification. Essential Functions-Reviews proposals for compliance with sponsor and organizational guidelines; verifies that all sponsor requirements are met. -Recruiting patients for clinical trials and conducting phone interviews. -Verifies the accuracy of study forms and updates them per protocol. -Prepares data for analysis and data entry. -Documents patient visits and procedures. -Assists with regulatory binders and QA/QC Procedures. -Assists with interviewing study subjects. -Assists with study regulator submissions. Qualifications Education Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study required Experience Some relevant research project work 0-1 year preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Recruiting and screening participants for neuroimaging studies Organizing and assisting with scans with skilled researchers of the lab Conducting complex neuroimaging studies with multiple types of data acquisition Contributing to processing and analysis of neuroimaging data Collecting, preparing, and processing biological samples Administrative tasks within the lab (e.g. supply purchasing, record-keeping) Contributing and managing IRB protocols & QI tracking Facilitating process improvements to streamline laboratory operations Other project assistance as needed Our lab is a collegial, professional, and welcoming environment. Please note that since our lab studies sleep, experiments sometimes take place on evenings and weekends. We aim to support all lab members’ professional development, and our past research assistants have gone on to excellent medical and graduate school programs.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in neuroscience, biomedical engineering, computer science, psychology, or related field
  • Ability to enter MRI scanner suite
  • Experience with programming (ideally Matlab or Python)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Good interpersonal skills and comfort working with human participants
  • Ability to work some shifts outside of business hours, including overnight shifts
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle sensitive confidential information
  • Flexible, adaptable, resourceful, proactive, and collegial
  • Motivation and attention to detail
