About The Position

The position involves working closely with the study physician to ensure that all patients participating in a clinical research trial are managed safely and effectively throughout their care. The role requires managing all elements of a clinical research trial to meet protocol obligations while adhering to applicable regulations, including the Code of Federal Regulations, Good Clinical Practices (GCP), and state regulations. The nurse will be responsible for planning, implementing, educating, and evaluating care plans using Evidence-Based Practices, ensuring that patient care is prioritized during clinical trial participation.

Requirements

  • Two years in clinical research nursing, required.
  • Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio, required.
  • BSN or Associate's Degree with commitment to obtain BSN within 5 years of hire, required.
  • CPR certification, required.
  • Obtain and maintain NRP and PALS certification as determined by management.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification by the Association of Clinical Research Professionals or Society of Clinical Research Administrators.
  • Understanding of medical terminology and clinical trials preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in clinical nursing skills such as venipuncture, IV starts, and injections.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, implements, educates, and evaluates care plans using Evidence-Based Practices in accordance with the study protocol.
  • Provides nursing care using a Family Centered approach while maintaining quality and safety.
  • Delegates, directs, oversees, and provides developmentally appropriate patient care.
  • Practices professional nursing and promotes patient advocacy in accordance with the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses.
  • Collaborates effectively and communicates patient care needs related to clinical trial participation to all involved care providers.
  • Completes and manages all procedural, data, regulatory, and training elements associated with clinical research project implementation.
