About The Position

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Department of Neurology's Movement Disorders Division, is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator II. The position recruits, consents, and enrolls a high volume of patients and controls for research studies that involve the collection of various human specimens.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Three (3) years of related experience required. Work experience may substitute for education requirement.

• Organized, detail-oriented, excellent communication, and computer skills.
• Experience with phlebotomy and research coordination.

Responsibilities

• Serve as coordinator for studies and provide support to other team members within the confines of the protocol as directed.
• Support screening and participant eligibility determination, working with more senior team members to ensure compliance.
• Conduct activities in accordance with the protocol, regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
• Assist with the study life cycle from start-up to closure, including collecting and recording data, recruiting and performing follow-up with participants, scheduling visits and assisting in coordination of lab and fieldwork.
• Conduct research visits.
• Consent, administer various scales/questionnaires.
• Perform blood draws and lab processing.
• Maintain research logs.
• Keep visits in Oncore.
• Prescreen clinic schedules for potential participants and approach participants via IRB-approved methods.
• Enter data, perform post-visit follow-up, and answer queries.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
