About The Position

The Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) will be an integral part of the research team at the Duke Center for the Study of Aging and Human Development, focusing on the Black Men's Brain Health (BMBH) Project. This role emphasizes community engagement, recruitment of Black/African American men for cognitive aging and dementia research, and fostering a culturally competent workforce. The CRC will manage day-to-day operations of clinical research studies, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and ethical practices while serving as a liaison between the research team and community stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Completion of an Associate's degree.
  • Minimum of two years of relevant research experience, with a Bachelor's degree substituting for the required experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in human subject clinical research and regulatory processes.
  • Strong recruitment and retention skills.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and administer community outreach and educational recruitment activities for research projects.
  • Screen participants for complex studies and maintain documentation for all studies.
  • Conduct and document consent for participants and develop consent plans for various studies.
  • Enter and collect data, ensuring accuracy and completeness for all studies.
  • Assist in project planning and guide the development of recruitment and research program activities.
  • Ensure studies comply with institutional requirements and policies, preparing for site visits and closeouts.
  • Serve as a community liaison, maintaining linkages with various organizations to raise awareness of the research portfolio.
  • Train or mentor junior staff in clinical research tasks and community engagement.
