About The Position

The Clinical Research Coordinator A/B position in the Epidemiology Division at the University of Pennsylvania is a pivotal role that involves assisting in the coordination of multiple research projects, particularly focusing on lung transplantation. The coordinator will be responsible for a variety of tasks that are essential to the successful execution of clinical trials and observational studies. These tasks include screening patients, enrolling subjects, collecting and storing biological samples, and managing related study documents. Additionally, the coordinator will be tasked with the collection and entry of clinical data, ensuring that all information is accurately recorded and maintained. The role requires close collaboration with the Principal Investigator, project manager, and study team to identify potential problems and develop effective solutions. The coordinator will also be responsible for implementing approved changes to procedures as necessary and monitoring the outcomes of these changes. The position is designed to ensure that all research activities adhere to the guidelines set forth by the University of Pennsylvania and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards. For the Clinical Research Coordinator B level, additional responsibilities include establishing workflows and methods to operationalize protocols, preparing and submitting regulatory correspondences, and mentoring less experienced research staff. This role requires a higher level of independence and judgment in managing assigned research studies, reflecting the increased complexity and responsibility associated with the B designation.
