About The Position

The Clinical Research Coordinator I (CRC I) position at the University of Texas at Tyler is an entry-level role designed for individuals to learn and assist in coordinating clinical research activities. Under the supervision of experienced Clinical Research Coordinators and Managers, the CRC I will gain hands-on experience in managing research studies, evaluating patient eligibility, and participating in various departmental functions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related area preferred.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Ability to manage time-sensitive studies to meet deadlines.
  • Strong ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Nice To Haves

  • Competence in clinical research coordination and preparation for Clinical Research Professional Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Learn the process of implementation, coordination, and management of research studies through hands-on training with senior level Clinical Research Coordinators.
  • Observe and assist with the evaluation of patient eligibility through discussion of inclusion/exclusion criteria with the Principal Investigator (PI).
  • Assist with the informed consent process and initiation of a patient onto a research study.
  • Participate in the scheduling, preparation, and management of research study monitoring visits.
  • Obtain knowledge of departmental functions through reading literature, attending workshops, seminars, and conferences, and participating in professional organizations.
