About The Position

This position provides hands on experience in an academic medical center environment and involves direct interaction with research participants, clinical research staff, and multidisciplinary study teams. The Student Research Assistant will independently perform assigned clinical research tasks, support clinic operations, and coordinate assigned studies while contributing meaningfully to ongoing research projects. The role requires professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently after training.

Responsibilities

Check research participants in and out of the Clinical Research Center
Assist with clinic flow
Communicate participant arrivals and visit needs to clinical research staff
Coordinate studies
Manage assigned studies
Organize study visits
Track study activities
Independently perform laboratory processing activities in accordance with study protocols and institutional requirements, including specimen labeling, preparation, centrifugation, storage, transport, and documentation of laboratory workflows
Prepare study visit materials
Assist with clinic room setup
Enter and verify study data
Maintain organized and compliant study records
Provide accurate information to regulatory staff as needed
Support general Clinical Research Center operations by stocking and organizing clinic supplies and assisting with routine clinic needs to maintain a safe and efficient research environment
Professional communication with research participants, investigators, and research team members
Adhere to all institutional, regulatory, and protocol specific requirements including IRB policies, HIPAA, and human subjects protections
Support of clinical research team members with additional clinic and research related tasks as needed
Other duties as assigned
