Clinical Research Associate I - Thoracic Oncology

A Clinical Research Associate I role is available under Dr Ravi Salgia, a thoracic oncologist. You will support the clinical and translational research program by performing a broad range of research activities. Clinical duties include patient screening and enrollment, informed consent, protocol coordination, and monitoring across oncology clinical trials. You will be responsible for abstracting and managing clinical, pathological, and outcomes data from electronic health records into research databases, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance throughout. This role also involves contributing to the preparation and submission of peer-reviewed manuscripts, conference abstracts, and presentations by conducting literature reviews, compiling data, and supporting writing and revision cycles. Additionally, you will assist in the development of research proposals and grant applications for federal and foundation funding mechanisms, including preparation of supporting documents and coordination of timely submissions. Requirements
- Associates degree. Experience may substitute for minimum education requirements. Bachelors preferred.
- One year of experience working in a health care setting, preferably in clinical research
- Superb communication and problem-solving skills and able to function independently and proficiently
- Demonstrable computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and/or Microsoft Access as well as skills in data management and analyses.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with medical record review, health information systems, and/or clinical trials is preferred
Responsibilities
- Conduct protocol management for an assigned set of multiple research protocols.
- Complete and maintain regulatory documents for IRB, DSMB and PRMC/CPRMC
- Recruit patients to study and establish and maintain relationships with patients, visitors and other hospital personnel, while assuring confidentiality of patient information
- Compile and submit data on appropriate forms according to protocol requirements
- Collect and deliver specimens for analysis using specified equipment and ensure proper labeling.
