About The Position

Functions as a Clinical Research Assistant providing support to multiple Prinicipal Investigators (PIs) in the College of Medicine (COM) Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in partnership with the Center for Clinical Research Management (CCRM); performs data collection duties including administering questionnaires, conducting patient interviews, leading focus groups, performing electronic medical record chart review; identifies appropriate patients from clinical schedules; discusses research studies with patients and obtains consent; supports participant recruitment and the implementation of strategies; assists in collection of research data; coordinates and tracks study mailing and communication with participants; performs data entry and prepares study reports; oversees and maintains accurate records of research activities; conducts library research on requested topics; provides support in planning and implementing programmatic activities; serves as a liaison with research team and other departments; assists in promoting communications between research team, clinicians, and community organizations; works closely with and supports project coordinator, data analyst, biostatistician, and principal investigators in their research efforts; attends research team meetings, assists with analysis of research results; participates in planning, designing, and execution of complex health services research studies; conducts critical analysis of research literature related to health services research; develops plans and resource tools to meet requirements of new protocols; summarizes data for inclusion in grant proposals and manuscripts; performs other duties as assigned by PIs.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in biological sciences, health sciences, public health or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • 0 years of relevant experience required.
  • Requires successful completion of a background check; qualified candidates may be asked to complete a pre-employment physical, including a drug screen.

Nice To Haves

  • 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Ability to translate, adapt and apply academic or practical knowledge in the conduct of translational/health science research is desired.
  • Experience in an administrative capacity working on research studies or research settings desired.
