Function as a liaison between internal/external referral sources and inpatient rehabilitation operations. Establish relationships and aid with communication to case managers, physicians, payors, patients, families and referral sources in order to generate referrals and drive patient admission volume in the inpatient rehab. Ensure appropriate patient selection through clinical chart assessments during on/off-site clinical evaluation of patients in collaboration with the physician. Complete in-service and educational opportunities for physicians, case managers, interdisciplinary members and other professionals. Serves as an educational resource to patients, family members and caregivers. Participate in the development and implementation of business plans for the rehab unit and contributes to the development and maintenance of referral source promotional information.
