About The Position

The Clinical Registered Nurse (RN) II is responsible for managing individualized patient care by promoting and restoring patients' health in accordance with medical and nursing plans of care and established policies and procedures. The Clinical RN II collaborates with physicians and multidisciplinary team members in the development, execution, and evaluation of the multidisciplinary plan of care. The RN assumes a full patient assignment and can plan, analyze, intervene and set goals for patient care accordingly. This nurse provides nursing services to patients and families in accordance with the scope of the RN as defined by the Virginia Board of Nursing. This RN maintains a safe care environment for their patients (clients) and delivers quality care.

Requirements

  • Minimum: Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing.
  • Preferred: Bachelor of Science - Nursing (BSN).
  • Minimum: At least One Year of Nursing (RN) Experience.
  • Minimum: Registration as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia and/or holds a compact license to practice in Virginia.
  • Basic Life Support certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification.
  • Experience in Cath Lab, Electrophysiology, Operating Room, Critical Care, Endoscopy, PACU, Interventional Radiology, Birth Center, Centra Specialty Hospital, Outpatient Ambulatory Surgery, Plastic Surgery.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct individualized patient assessments, prioritizing data collection based on the patient's immediate condition or needs.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments as determined by the patient's condition and reprioritize care accordingly.
  • Integrate nursing interventions into the multidisciplinary plan of care.
  • Develop, modify, and integrate an individualized care plan incorporating the medical plan of care.
  • Establish individualized, measurable patient goals in consultation with the patient, family, and health care team.
  • Perform appropriate treatments as ordered by the provider in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Recognize potential problems and respond to urgent and/or emergent risks to the patient.
  • Initiate emergency resuscitative measures as appropriate.
  • Evaluate patient's responses to care based on effectiveness of nursing interventions.
  • Document patient assessment findings and progress towards problem resolution.
  • Identify learning needs of patients/families and teach by adapting standard information.
  • Communicate with patients and family to identify their needs and include them in the plan of care.
  • Assume responsibility for assessing and meeting own learning and professional development needs.
  • Supervise delegated care based on abilities of personnel and patient acuity.
  • Participate in service recovery and handle conflict resolution.
  • Support organizational efforts regarding appropriate resource utilization.
  • Participate in data collection for quality assurance activities.
  • Maintain confidentiality in matters as outlined in Centra policies.
