The Clinical Registered Nurse will work under the provider's direction, providing all general nursing staff functions for the practice. Responsibilities include recording vital signs, providing initial patient assessments, obtaining concise patient histories, and providing clinical information and support to providers. The role also involves processing and posting information to patient charts and educating patients and families regarding medications, treatment, care, and referrals.

  • Obtain concise patient history and provide clinical information and support to providers.

  • Provide patient and family education regarding medications, treatment, and care.
  • Assist in other areas as needed and perform phone triage of patients.
  • Prepare for patient appointments and maintain documentation standards.
  • Prepare patients for examinations including assessment, histories, vital signs, and medication reconciliation.
  • Triage calls and determine urgency and necessity of appointments.
  • Assist provider with minor and emergency procedures and examinations.
  • Schedule tests and procedures for patients in other departments.
  • Document results from ordered tests/procedures and notify patients of results.
  • Perform point of care laboratory tests as directed by the physician.
  • Coordinate admissions, referrals, and facilitate prescription requests.
  • Administer treatment as requested by the physician and record all data.
  • Maintain and review patient records, charts, and other pertinent information.
  • Participate in performance improvement monitoring and quality of care.
  • Attend staff and other meetings as required and participate in ongoing educational activities.
  • Assist in completion of miscellaneous forms as required.
  • Interact with and contribute to the professional development of colleagues.
  • Stock supplies and maintain examination rooms.
  • Diploma, Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
  • 6-12 months experience in healthcare preferred.
  • Licensed RN in good standing with the State of Michigan required.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and effective problem solving and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patients, doctors, and other staff.
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent computer skills with ability to read, interpret, and analyze data.
