About The Position

RD Nutrition Consultants, LLC is seeking a Clinical Registered Dietitian to join our team for a part-time, on-site opportunity in Louisiana. This role is ideal for an RD with acute care experience who values flexibility, autonomy, and meaningful clinical impact. Position Details Schedule: 16–24 hours per week On-site requirement: 2–3 facility visits per week Compensation: $30.00–$38.00 per hour, based on experience + mileage reimbursement at the federal rate

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or related field from an accredited program
  • Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential through the Commission on Dietetic Registration
  • Minimum of 1–3 years of recent acute care clinical experience (required)
  • Experience managing patients with complex and diverse medical conditions
  • Proficiency in enteral and parenteral nutrition support
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with acute care workflows, EHR systems, and hospital regulatory standards
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive nutrition assessments for patients identified at nutritional risk in accordance with facility policies and procedures
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized, evidence-based nutrition care plans for patients with complex medical conditions
  • Provide nutrition education and counseling to patients and families, including acute disease management, discharge planning, and readmission prevention
  • Collaborate proactively with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, speech-language pathologists, case managers, and other interdisciplinary team members
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards (e.g., TJC, CMS), and acute care nutrition best practices
  • Maintain timely, thorough documentation in the electronic medical record, reflecting medical necessity and intervention effectiveness
  • Monitor changes in weight, labs, fluid status, and overall clinical condition, adjusting nutrition interventions as needed
  • Participate in clinical rounds, quality improvement initiatives, and activities that enhance patient care and safety
  • Serve as a nutrition resource for hospital staff and contribute to staff education as appropriate
  • Perform other duties within scope of practice as assigned
