About The Position

RD Nutrition Consultants LLC, a nationally recognized leader in clinical nutrition consulting, is seeking an experienced Registered Dietitian to provide remote clinical nutrition services in Missouri. This is a fully remote position with a flexible schedule — ideal for a skilled dietitian looking to supplement existing work or maintain clinical engagement on a part-time basis. You’ll have the freedom to complete assessments and consults within 72 hours, while making a meaningful impact on patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field from an accredited program.
  • Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) credential through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
  • Active Missouri state license (or eligibility to obtain prior to start).
  • 1–3 years of recent acute care clinical experience (required).
  • Demonstrated experience with diverse and complex medical conditions.
  • Proficiency in enteral and parenteral nutrition support.
  • Strong communication and critical thinking skills.
  • Experience with electronic health record (EHR) documentation and hospital workflows.
  • Ability to work autonomously and maintain clinical excellence in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive nutrition assessments for patients identified at nutritional risk, adhering to facility policies and procedures.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized, evidence-based nutrition care plans for patients with complex medical conditions.
  • Offer nutrition education and counseling to patients and families regarding acute disease management, discharge planning, and prevention of readmission.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, case managers, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with all hospital policies, regulatory standards (e.g., TJC, CMS), and best practice guidelines for acute care nutrition.
  • Maintain timely and thorough electronic documentation reflecting medical necessity and intervention effectiveness.
  • Monitor patients for acute changes in weight, labs, and clinical condition, adjusting nutrition interventions as needed.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and serve as a nutrition resource for healthcare staff.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned within scope of practice.
