About The Position

The Clinical Quality Supervisor, Pharmacy, is responsible for ensuring that pharmacy services under their control are cost-effective and meet organizational expectations. This position involves planning, organizing, directing, controlling, monitoring, and evaluating the professional components of pharmacy services. The manager facilitates program development, takes the lead on projects, and oversees the strategy and vision for the pharmacy program. They are accountable for the overall operation of the pharmacy, which includes daily administrative tasks and financial performance. This role supports the organization's values through providing quality customer service, fostering teamwork, upholding integrity, respecting others, and prioritizing patient safety.

Requirements

  • A graduate of a school of pharmacy with a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree is required
  • Current licensure as a pharmacist in the State of California
  • Must have at least 4- 6 years of supervisory experience
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective work relationships with all levels internally and externally.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Applications: Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Is accountable, builds trust, collaborates, and pursues excellence
  • Has great problem-solving skills and “thinks out of the box” to provide solutions
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to work in a multi-task, fast moving environment, is flexible and adapts well to change
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of the PBM industry, formulary management, pharmacy claims, and managed care principles and practices preferred
  • Minimum of 5- 7 years of pharmacy experience within a managed care setting preferred

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the quality of pharmacy operations through effective management of daily administrative tasks and financial performance.
  • Manage the internal team on initiatives that impact STARS and HEDIS Part D metrics.
  • Identify, oversee, and optimize operational needs, including collecting and analyzing metrics, developing internal reports, and establishing standard operating procedures.
  • Actively participate in the pharmacy management team's strategic planning, contributing significantly to business plans, communication strategies, objectives, budget, and other resource plans.
  • Make independent decisions that significantly affect daily workflow, business processes, resource utilization, and functional product support activities and projects.
  • Evaluate medication adherence, chronic disease medication access, and other pharmacy-related aspects linked to STARS.
  • Develop, guide, and inspire direct reports to achieve objectives that support the department's strategic initiatives.
  • Identify, recruit, hire, develop, and retain talent for the managed care quality pharmacy team. Allocate and schedule staff effectively to ensure timely and safe patient-centered care.
  • Ensure effective collaboration with all stakeholders to optimize business operations, schedule projects promptly, achieve objectives, and address any issues that arise.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
