Children’s Mercy Kansas City has 3 openings for pediatric psychologists to join our rapidly expanding team of pediatric psychologists who provide care to patients across over 31 integrated programs across the hospital through outpatient assessment and targeted consultation, and inpatient consultation, with growing needs identified across multiple surgical subspeciality areas. The psychologist would be a member of the Division of Developmental and Behavioral Health and would also join one or more subspecialty surgery teams/programs (e.g., spine, otology, sports medicine, uveitis, urology, colorectal/general surgery, gynecology). We are recruiting a psychologist who has training and/or experience with youth with medical complexity and within multidisciplinary teams in both outpatient and inpatient settings. Experience conducting targeted outpatient consultations, brief evidence-based interventions, pre-surgical evaluations, inpatient consultations, multidisciplinary care conferences, and targeted testing is desired. This position will include teaching in the hospital’s pediatric medical and psychology training programs. It will also include protected academic time for service, research, and other scholarly activities. Faculty mentoring is provided for all new faculty members and additional support is available for those interested in clinical scholarship (e.g., program evaluation, quality improvement initiatives). This position carries an academic appointment at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine, with rank commensurate to qualifications and experience.
