About The Position

The Clinical Psychologist I position at Sharp Memorial Hospital involves evaluating, planning, directing, and administering psychology services within the Comprehensive Pain Program/Rehab Center. The role requires assisting patients in reaching their maximum performance and level of functioning, participating in operational aspects of the department, and maintaining performance improvement activities. The psychologist will also engage in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities.

Requirements

• Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) or Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) from an APA accredited college or university.
• 1 year experience in a clinical psychology setting.
• AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) certification - REQUIRED.
• California Licensed Clinical Psychologist (LCP) - CA Board of Psychology - REQUIRED.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates, plans, directs, and administers psychology services.
• Assists patients in reaching their maximum performance and level of functioning.
• Participates in operational aspects of the department.
• Maintains performance improvement activities within the department.
• Participates in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities.
• Completes documentation in a timely, complete, legible, concise, and accurate manner.
• Performs appropriate assessments on all patients related to the therapy requested.
• Assesses patient pain that interferes with optimal level of function or participation in rehabilitation.
• Designs, implements, and evaluates treatment plans, recommending changes to physicians as needed.
• Formulates teaching plans based on identified learning needs and evaluates effectiveness of learning.
• Coordinates and directs patient care to ensure patients' needs are met.
