About the position

Corrections professionals who foster a humane and secure environment and ensure public safety by preparing individuals for successful reentry into our communities. This position involves performing duties consistent with the coordination of approved drug abuse programs, including Non-residential Drug Abuse Treatment, Drug Education, Residential Drug Abuse Treatment, and Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT). The incumbent will exercise full professional responsibility for findings, interpretations, decisions, recommendations, and reports, and will be responsible for initiating, implementing, and monitoring treatment programs in compliance with Bureau of Prisons' policy. The role includes directing and supervising all clinical activities and staff related to drug treatment of Bureau inmates, maintaining security of the institution, and providing highly-skilled drug abuse treatment protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate approved drug abuse programs including Non-residential Drug Abuse Treatment, Drug Education, Residential Drug Abuse Treatment, and Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT).
  • Exercise full professional responsibility for findings, interpretations, decisions, recommendations, and reports.
  • Initiate, implement, and monitor treatment programs in compliance with Bureau of Prisons' policy.
  • Direct and supervise all clinical activities and staff in relation to drug treatment of Bureau inmates.
  • Maintain security of the institution while performing correctional responsibilities.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Satisfactory completion of all requirements for a doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in clinical or counseling psychology.
  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level.
  • Fluency in Spanish, including the ability to speak, read, and write in Spanish.
  • Hold a full, current, and unrestricted license to practice psychology at the doctoral level.
