About The Position

CBEM brings lasting, positive changes to the individuals with developmental disabilities we serve, some of whom experience mental illness. Our process begins with observations from which we design a comprehensive plan. It continues on as we teach our clients and their circle of support how to obtain positive, sustainable outcomes. We are looking for a Clinical Consultant (Licensed Clinical Psychologist preferred) to meet with our team two hours per week remotely via videoconferencing and potentially in person. This meeting is an opportunity to provide your clinical expertise to our team of Critical Intervention Specialists regarding the individuals we serve. The consultant is expected to read our case reviews, offer clinical recommendations, and consult on evidence-based best practices related to presenting mental health issues. This is a remote independent contractor position and is paid on an hourly basis. $100-150/hour Who we are: We provide mobile crisis (Critical Intervention Services) to both children and adults diagnosed with intellectual/developmental disabilities, many of whom experience co-occurring mental illness. Our stakeholders are Regional Centers throughout the state of California. Our model is are very similar to a wrap-around service. Our Critical Intervention Specialists (CIS) who are in the field with our clients are predominantly MFTIs or MSW graduates many of whom are obtaining their hours toward licensure. We also have Critical Intervention Specialists with ABA backgrounds that are on track to become BCBAs. Who you are: We are looking for an experienced Licensed Clinical Consultant to support our teams. Knowledge/experience with individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities is a must. An understanding of developmental/intellectual disabilities, as well as mental illness diagnosis, is essential to be considered for this consultation role. The consultant must have reliable access to videoconferencing and a willingness to be in person when requested. Licensure in California is required. Applicant must possess a doctoral degree (Ph.D., Psy.D.) from an APA-accredited program.
