About the Position: This position is located at 28th MDG Ellsworth Air Force Base, South Dakota. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation. Ellsworth Air Force Base ( AFB ) is located about 10 milesnortheast of Rapid City, South Dakota, just north of the town of Box Elder. Rapid City is known as the "Gateway to the Black Hills" and the "City of Presidents" because of the life-size bronze president statues downtown, Rapid City is split by a low mountain ridge that divides the city's western and eastern parts, called ‘The Gap.’ Rapid City is home to such attractions as Art Alley, Dinosaur Park , the City of Presidents walking tour, Chapel in the Hills , Storybook Island, and Main Street Square. The historic " Old West " town of Deadwood is nearby. Requirements

  • US Citizens
  • Degree: Doctoral Degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology.
  • Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes conducting behavioral health assessments; providing individual and group treatment; and working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
  • For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
  • Licensure: This position requires a current, active, valid, unrestricted clinical license to practice Psychology independently, offered by a U.S. State, District of Columbia, commonwealth, territory or jurisdiction. (NOTE: You must provide a copy of your license with your application package)
  • FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university. Responsibilities

  • Apply biopsychosocial evaluations to propose behavioral health interventions.
  • Provide evidence-based treatment, including behavioral, cognitive, and motivational approaches.
  • Provide primary care providers and staff regular and concise feedback on the status of referred patients, to include recommendations for team-based care.
  • Implement psychoeducational classes to target high frequency diagnoses found in the primary care clinic.
  • Document information in the electronic health record during patient encounters.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
