About The Position

The Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Virginia (UVA) School of Medicine seeks applications to join our clinical faculty as a psychologist on the tenure-ineligible track. The successful candidate will be expected to provide neuropsychological evaluation, education and intervention. This person will be part of perioperative team to improve brain health during the perioperative period and beyond. We are particularly interested in postoperative cognitive dysfunction and postoperative delirium and starting a registry on them. Thus, you will work in preoperative clinic, and intraoperative and postoperative areas to conduct screening and comprehensive diagnostic psycho-educational evaluations and provide appropriate psychotherapy to patients and/or their family members that have been enrolled in a clinical trial or whose clinical situation requires such an evaluation or intervention based on published guideline.

Requirements

  • Licensed clinical psychologist
  • Experience in the evaluation of cognition and behavior including learning and memory
  • Interest in the perioperative setting
