About The Position

The NC DHHS Division of State Operated Healthcare Facilities (DSOHF) has invested heavily in transforming all 13 facilities from paper to an Electronic Health Record (EHR) system using Epic and multiple third-party applications through our EHR program. The DSOHF division serves 10,000 employees, over 2,000 patients/residents served every day, and over 2500 clinicians, physicians, and nurses. This project management role will function as the Clinical PM with other project managers, application teams, operations, multiple internal and external stakeholders, and vendor(s) to analyze, plan, implement, and optimize the clinical components required for an Epic and non-Epic system. This position will be responsible for working with senior-level business executives, IT personnel, and business program resources to execute project requirements and manage stakeholder expectations. This position will manage the day to day activities for the project and complete all input to the State Project Management (Touchdown) system. Serve as a member of a project team led by higher level project management staff. Projects may include multiple technology disciplines (i.e. Hardware, software, applications development, network infrastructure etc.) and/or significant business process re-engineering efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Scienceor a related IT field,Business Administration, Project Managementor closely related degree from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of experience in IT project management or technical project management related work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated experience in managing projects and/or multiple projects that may be in one or more programs that are significant to the billing and revenue business, characterized by its high-risk profile, budget, duration, complexity of design, or the adoption of new techniques or technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing EHR (preferably Epic) Clinical related projects and programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to acquire and utilize the necessary resources and skills to successfully deliver the project within agreed parameters of cost, time frames, quality, and deliverables
  • Demonstrated experience in managing projects utilizing project management methodologies
  • Experience communicating and delivering presentations, metrics, dashboards, briefings, and/or project updates to executive leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Documenting and validating the program scope and its key requirements from cross-functional sponsors and stakeholders.
  • Developing detailed project schedule, resources, budget and monitoring expenditures.
  • Developing and maintaining all required project management artifacts following PMBOK guidelines.
  • Supervising implementation activities, ensuring that project plans and schedules are established and maintained, ensuring that deliverables are completed timely and accurately.
  • Establishing project governance, conducting formal presentations, coordinating with all project stakeholders and ensure that appropriate project controls are instituted.
  • Collaborating with business stakeholders on project management, rollout, and training plans, ensuring technical readiness with the technical team, and managing vendor deliverables to meet all milestones.
  • Managing and monitoring projects, programs on their progress and potential risks, and implementing appropriate mitigation plans.
