About the position

This position oversees the Carilion Clinic Center for Grief and Healing, focusing on the mental health needs of those who experience chronic grief and traumatic loss. The Clinical Program Manager will provide mental health services to patients within Carilion Clinic, manage and communicate the patient's mental health care plan and transition plans effectively and in compliance with Carilion-specific and professional standards of care. The role involves collaborating with healthcare and community colleagues to ensure efficient, high-quality mental health support and follow-up. Additionally, the manager will establish individual staff and program goals, community partnerships and programs, and operating plans within strategic budgets, performance and quality indicators and targets set forth within Psychological Services and the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health. Compliance with licensure requirements, certifications, accrediting standards, and Carilion credentialing and quality of care standards and policies is essential. The manager will also manage data, grants, and reporting for the program, participate and represent the Center for Grief and Healing, Psychological Services, and the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine in public and professional settings, and assist and facilitate internal and external audits as needed. The position champions Carilion's mission, vision, and values, and requires compliance with the policies and procedures, ethical standards, and code of conduct set forth by the company.

Responsibilities

  • Provide mental health services to patients within Carilion Clinic.
  • Manage and communicate the patient's mental health care plan and transition plans effectively.
  • Facilitate timely follow-up care and remove barriers to care transition.
  • Collaborate with healthcare and community colleagues to ensure efficient, high-quality mental health support and follow-up.
  • Establish individual staff and program goals, community partnerships and programs, and operating plans within strategic budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with licensure requirements, certifications, accrediting standards, and Carilion credentialing and quality of care standards and policies.
  • Manage data, grants, and reporting for the program.
  • Participate and represent the Center for Grief and Healing in public and professional settings.
  • Assist and facilitate internal and external audits as needed.
  • Champion Carilion's mission, vision, and values.

Requirements

  • Master's in Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE-accredited program or Master's degree in Counseling or related field from a CACREP-accredited graduate program.
  • 2-5 years of clinical experience required.
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) required.
  • Ability to problem solve and to communicate effectively.
  • Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous program management and data analysis experience is highly preferred.
