Clinical pharmacist specializing in malignant hematology, responsible for optimizing medication therapy for patients with leukemia, multiple myeloma, and other hematologic malignancies. Provides direct patient care in collaboration with oncologists and the multidisciplinary team, including chemotherapy regimen review and optimization, supportive care management, and monitoring for adverse effects. Ensures safe, evidence-based, and cost-effective use of antineoplastic and supportive therapies while educating patients, families, and healthcare staff. Teaching responsibilities include precepting pharmacy students, PGY-1, and PGY-2 pharmacy residents. Other academic opportunities are available through collaboration with University of Georgia's College of Pharmacy, which has a campus located in Augusta, GA. PGY2 Oncology Residency or equivalent experience in Hematology-Oncology required. Pharmacists must have a medication safety viewpoint and be in compliance with all applicable standards and regulations (TJC, BOP, CMS, etc). Pharmacists oversee the activities of pharmacy technicians. Pharmacists must engage in teaching as part of the hospital's mission.
