About The Position

The Clinical Pharmacy Resident, reporting to the Clinical Pharmacy Manager, has the overall responsibility of participating in patient care through monitoring of patient's drug therapy for safety, efficacy, and cost effectiveness with emphasis on utilizing pharmacologic and pharmacokinetics principles. The Clinical Pharmacy Resident is also responsible for participating in departmental education and CQI programs.

Requirements

  • Completed 1,500 intern experience hours as required by the California Board of Pharmacy for licensure.
  • California Pharmacist Licensure within 6 months of residency start date.
  • BLS/PALS certifications required within 90 days of hire/transfer.
  • Proficient in interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
  • Knowledge of State and Federal laws.
  • Analytical skills to determine the appropriateness of drug therapy and the correctness of the dosage.
  • Ability to evaluate drug interactions, ADEs, and allergic reactions.
  • Organizational skills necessary to coordinate required projects and assignments.

Nice To Haves

  • Internship experience in a hospital setting.
  • Knowledge of the current trends in pharmacokinetics, pharmacology, and toxicology as they relate to drug therapy in the neonatal, pediatric, and adolescent patient population.
