  • Responsible for the development, supervision, and evaluation of clinical pharmacy services, subject to the review and approval by the Director of Pharmacy.
  • Collaborate with other clinical departments within WRMC to support a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
  • Ensure that all activities of the department are consistent with overall hospital objectives.
  • Coordinate the Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T) Committee and organize the implementation of all P&T approved initiatives.
  • Oversee the educational programs of pharmacists, residents, and students.
  • Assist with interdisciplinary education within the facility.
  • Collaborate with UHS Corporate Clinical Pharmacy Services.
  • Work with the Director of Pharmacy to assure compliance with all state and federal regulatory and accrediting agencies.
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate departmental performance improvement activities and medication safety actions.
  • Perform departmental staffing duties as needed.
  • Provide clinical pharmaceutical care to patients.
  • Serve as an expert, professional resource to service areas and Pharmacy Department.
  • Lead a team in a designated area of practice and mentor, supervise, and evaluate employees.
  • Recognize the signs and symptoms of stroke and call a stroke alert overhead.
  • Serve as a member of the Stroke Committee.
  • Maintain currency in stroke knowledge by completing the annual 2 hours online training.
  • Current pharmacist license in the State of Florida.
  • Doctor of Pharmacy from an accredited school of pharmacy required.
  • Completion of a Pharmacy Practice (PGY-1) Residency or equivalent experience required.
  • At least 3 years clinical hospital experience required.
  • Competence required in providing pharmaceutical care for neonatal (including NICU), pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
  • Experience with chemotherapy preparation and patient evaluation/monitoring required.
  • Leadership experience in planning and setting direction for a department is preferred.
  • Functioning knowledge of Cerner computer programs and Microsoft Office preferred.
