About The Position

At NewYork-Presbyterian/Westchester Medical Center, outstanding pharmaceutical care is integral to our success. NYP is one of the nation’s largest and most comprehensive healthcare systems and a leading provider of inpatient, ambulatory, and preventive care in all areas of medicine. NYP has over 500 dedicated psychiatry beds, spread across 2 large academic medical centers and 2 psychiatric hospitals. We offer inpatient and outpatient services and provide cutting edge care to this vulnerable population. In this role, you'll work closely with medical providers, other Clinical Pharmacists, Operational Pharmacy Managers, and pharmacy staff to implement quality patient care services. You will join a growing team of psychiatric clinicians across the healthcare system, including a PGY-2 psychiatry resident. Candidates will be expected to design, implement, and monitor pharmacotherapy of both hospitalized and ambulatory patients, assist in the transitions of care, and help to obtain access to medications. Additional responsibilities include providing education to patients, physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other members of the health care teams. As a member of psychiatry pharmacy team, you will participate in guideline and policy review and creation, serve on the Formulary and Therapeutics Subcommittee, as well as participate in pharmacy student, PGY1 and PGY2 residency training. Many opportunities will be available to use problem-solving and decision-making skills, and to conduct ongoing research that helps advance the practice.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an ACPE Accredited School of Pharmacy
  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree
  • Completion of a PGY1 Pharmacy Residency
  • 3 years of experience in Psychiatry without PGY2 Residency
  • All roles require on-site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP. NYP will not reimburse for travel expenses.
