The Clinical Pharmacist is responsible for providing pharmaceutical assessments, treatments, and care for the neonate, pediatric, and adolescent patient population served. Is responsible for monitoring drug therapy, providing drug information, consulting with medical, nursing, and allied healthcare professionals to deliver high quality, cost effective pharmaceutical services. Will coordinate workflow of the department and directs activities of pharmacy technicians.

  • Provide pharmaceutical assessments, treatments, and care for neonate, pediatric, and adolescent patients.
  • Monitor drug therapy and provide drug information.
  • Consult with medical, nursing, and allied healthcare professionals.
  • Coordinate workflow of the pharmacy department.
  • Direct activities of pharmacy technicians.
  • Minimum one (1) year of clinical pharmacy experience in an acute care setting.
  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree or Pharm.D. from an accredited college or university.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within one (1) year of hire or transfer.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications required within 90 days of hire or transfer.
  • Pharmacist license from the CA Board of Pharmacy.
  • Experience in a pediatric acute care setting.
  • Completion of an ASHP-accredited hospital/clinical/pediatric residency program (PGY1 and/or PGY2).
  • Knowledge of current trends in pharmacokinetics, pharmacology, and toxicology as they relate to drug therapy in the neonatal, pediatric, and adolescent patient population.
