About The Position

The Clinical Pharmacist at Madison Hospital Inpatient Pharmacy is responsible for monitoring drug therapy to improve patient outcomes and quality of care. This role involves recommending rational and cost-effective pharmacotherapeutic alternatives, ensuring accurate and efficient medication distribution, and implementing and evaluating nutritional support and pharmacokinetic regimens. The Clinical Pharmacist also supervises pharmacy technical staff. Huntsville Hospital was recently named Best Regional Hospital and #2 in Alabama by U.S. News & World Report, featuring 971 beds, a specialized Orthopedic & Spine Tower, a Level III Regional Neonatal ICU, and the largest Emergency Department and Level 1 Trauma Center in the state. The hospital is a certified Primary Stroke Center and recognized for its heart programs, offering various opportunities for professional growth and development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in pharmacy or doctor of pharmacy degree from an accredited university
  • License to practice pharmacy in Alabama
  • Proof of current AHA BLS must be provided or obtained by the end of the orientation period
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly
  • Proficient in mathematics

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of post graduate pharmacy residency or equivalent clinical experience
